A surprising simple approach is behind the successful lighting design of the award-winning Garangula Gallery in outback NSW. Designed by architects FKM, the building houses a private collection of artwork and precious gemstones.

The key has been to use concealed lighting details to highlight the architecture and materials, both inside and out, rather than the spaces. Specialist LED lighting brings the exhibits to life. The project was winner of the Public Design category at the 2014 Australian Interior Design Awards, commended by the jury for its exemplary use of natural and artificial light.
