Based on the concept of a traditional Japanese dwelling, Engawa House in Fitzroy, Melbourne, provided a series of lighting challenges posed by the varying ceiling heights and intersecting wall planes. The lighting solution also needed to fulfill both high quality and minimal aesthetic aspirations.
The solution internally is a combination of fixed and adjustable downlights, as well as LED mood lighting for the living and dining spaces. Externally, adjustable feature lights showcase the striking black form which signposts the street corner.
