Light Project was proud to be one of this year’s sponsors of The Design Circus. The two-part event showcased the culture of design in Western Australia in an active, live experience, providing visitors with access to the world’s most inspiring designers and international stars.
With more than 3000 visitors to The Design Circus in 2015, presenters Mobila sought even greater success this year with a reimagined structure focused entirely on the designers and their works. The event, which began in July, brought recently named international designer of the year, Jaimie Hayon to Perth for Act One, and last month, creative director Patrizia Moroso for Act Two.
With a personal ethos of “I only work with designers I love”, Moroso is well known for building relationships with designers, which has helped her form significant friendships with many known and loved design icons.
In a sell out event, Moroso spoke to to the stories, friendships and passion that helped the great director shape today’s design culture. Known for launching some of the world’s most notable designers including Patricia Urquiola, Ron Arad, Doshi Levien and Marc Newson, Moroso’s rich history in the industry and her passion for design in everyday life was discussed in the hour-long session.
Light Project was honoured to support an event with an ongoing commitment to nurturing the design community. The Design Circus showcases some of the world’s best talent while acting as a platform for inspiring a culture of design in Western Australia.
All money raised from the event will be donated to local charities including Silver Chain, Youth Focus and The Salvation Army.
